Hello, my name is Emily Miller. I am a double major in Cybersecurity and Software Design and Development with a double minor in Computer Science and Honors at the University of West Florida.
I am a highly focused and responsible college student who demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and responsibility. A leader with excellent time-management skills, an aptitude for learning, as well as the resourcefulness and drive to get the job done.
Industry Experience
Cyber Ambassador
• Participates in outreach initiatives in the community
• Works with the team to bring cybersecurity awareness to the local youth through games, demos, and hands-on labs
• Represented the Center for Cybersecurity and the University through events throughout Florida
Software Engineering Intern
• Delivered tested and high-quality technical implementations that met the design requirements set by my superiors.
• Created clear and estimable technical designs based on collaboration feedback
• Secured the usage of PII (Personally Identifiable Information) on data collected from social media
Defense Competition
• Head Windows Administrator for all of the Windows machines.
• Worked with others to defend multiple servers of different operating systems from live red team attacks
• Coordinated malware and nmap scans to be run on all systems
• Member of the regional and international competitions team
• Co-wrote the team’s penetration testing report for the fictitious business
• Worked with others to complete a penetration testing for a simulated business
• Lead Administrator for all of the Windows machines.
• Worked with others to clean up vulnerabilities that could lead to future attacks
• Organized team events and worked with the coach to make sure we were ready to compete
• Graded all assignments in a timely manner
