About Emily
Emily Miller is a double major in Cybersecurity and Software Design and Development with a double minor in Computer Science and Honors as part of the University of West Florida Honors Program. She is a member of the school’s Cyber Club and has competed in their Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition, Hivestorm, and highly ranked and competitive Collegiate Penetration Testing team that for the past several years has qualified for the World Championships.
Recently, Miller was selected from a competitive group to represent the school as a Cyber Ambassador, a select group of students who meet with K-12 students to teach them about cybersecurity through games, demonstrations, and hands-on labs.
Miller has put her education and experience to work as an intern for game manufacturer EA Sports in her hometown Orlando, Fla., where she worked as a Software Engineer for an upcoming release and recently received a final job offer with the US Department of Defense for a summer 2023 internship.
Along with her classwork, Miller works as a student photographer for the UWF Sports Information Office. In her spare time, she has taken it upon herself to earn certifications in Java as well as Expert Level certifications in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as certifications in Microsoft PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
